Les concerts 2012

Après une fin d’année 2011 mémorable, la sortie de mon tout nouvel album « The Art of Dreaming » en février – et un accueil inattendu et émouvant de ce disque – le rythme ne faiblit pas ! Je repars à votre rencontre pour les mois qui viennent, en Guadeloupe tout prochainement, en France durant l’été que je finirai par une tournée en Colombie. Les détails de tous ces concerts seront bientôt publiés, mais voici déjà une vue de tout ce programme.


Tout d’abord et une bonne fois pour toutes, notez-le, le concert initialement prévu au New Morning le 11 avril prochain EST ANNULE ! En avril, je me fais un immense plaisir de venir vous présenter le quartet en Guadeloupe. Nous jouerons à Sonis (le 19), à la Rotonde, pour finir à l’Hemingway (le 21).


Je serai à Paris avec le quartet fin mai au Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain des Prés (le 22 mai à l’Institut Océanographique), et nous jouerons au New Morning le 3 juillet (là, normalement, c’est confirmé !). Et puis petite incursion du projet Rise Above au festival des Hauts de Garonne le 5 juillet.


Au mois d’août, le quartet « Art of Dreaming » sera en tournée dans plusieurs festivals : Au Gré du Jazz, Marciac, Jazz en Baie, Jazz à Tout Var et Jazz au Château de Clermont. Les détails seront communiqués très prochainement. En septembre, et en trio, je serai en Colombie, de Cali à Barranquilla en passant par Medellin !


Un beau programme en perspective, avant de retrouver Jazz Racine Haïti en fin d’année, mais pour l’instant, je ne vous en dis pas plus. A très bientôt sur les routes !

News - December 2011

Over the past year I have not communicated properly with people who follow my work. The reason being that it was the most creative year of my life. I created five new projects -instead of one every two years. I also recorded a previous project last September, which will be released in February 2012. It’s a quartet recording featuring Baptiste Trotignon, Thomas Bramerie and Hans van Oosterhout.
It’s called “The Art of Dreaming”, because of the state of heightened awareness that we share when we play together, which I could describe as dreaming while being awake. 
That dreamlike awareness fuels the energy of the record: it really feels like a live concert recording, in front of our best audience. I take it as a gift… And I’m excited to share that gift with you!
